Peg Leg Pirates to Debut New Float at Ruskin Veteran’s Parade

Ye Notorious Krewe of the Peg Leg Pirate will participate in the Ruskin Veteran’s Day Parade on Nov. 13. The Krewe will be joined on their float by a number of war veterans, along the 1 mile line of march. “We are very excited to have these Veterans join us as we debut our new float,” said Shirley Huber, the Krewe’s Captain.

Krewe Members have worked many weekends to build a “Treasure Island” themed float, under the direction of the Krewe’s Admiral, John McNeely, who also designed it and organized the work parties. The float will feature the Krewe’s life-sized pirate mascot, the handsome Peg Leg Pete, a mountain with a working waterfall and a Tiki Hut stocked with parade refreshment. According to Captain Shirley, “Krewe Members are enthusiastically looking forward to the chance to honor our country’s Veterans by participating in the Parade.”
