Welcome to the home of
Ye Notorious Krewe of the Peg-Leg Pirate
Our Krewe is a non-profit organization formed in early 2004 by a group of friends who wanted to fill a need within the community, while having fun and forming new friendships. Our Charity focus and name come from our Founder who is the heart and soul of our organization. She is an amputee and has challenged our group to find ways we can help others.
Mission
The Krewe’s purpose is to provide its Members the opportunity to assist amputees, their families, and organizations who work with amputees.
The Krewe shall participate in parades, festivals and civic events
SCHOLARSHIPS AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE FOR AMPUTEES
Ye Notorious Krewe of the Peg Leg Pirate, Inc. is pleased to announce the establishment of a Scholarship Fund. This fund will be used to assist with the educational expenses of college and trade/technical school students who are amputees. The members of the Krewe believe that education and training provide that additional step to success.
There are scholarships for both academic college programs as well as trade/technical school training. In addition, the Krewe has funding to assist amputees (students and non-students) by providing those services and equipment that can enhance their lives.
The annual deadline for submissions of academic assistance is March 31. Financial assistance may be requested at any time.
2008 Scholarship Award Recipients
The Krewe also works closely with the Tampa Shriners Hospital in their endeavors to provide various apparatuses to accommodate those less fortunate
